About the Grantor

The Grantor, Dan Hagan, is a self-made businessman. As a young man the Grantor attended four small public schools located in Carroll County (population 10,193), Sullivan County (6,907) and Howard County (9,957), and attended the University of Missouri. The Grantor worked during high school and college and obtained a college education without incurring debt.

Now, due to the high cost of college, many aspiring students from rural counties are precluded from obtaining a college education. The Grantor intends to help students in circumstances similar to those he experienced as a young man.

The award of a Hagan Scholarship is not intended to be a "full-ride" scholarship, it is intended to make a college education affordable and will provide each recipient the opportunity to achieve his or her full potential and graduate college debt free.
